The first article I ever had published was in a national car magazine, back in the early Eighties. And it’s motoring that has provided me with a good proportion of my work since then, as I’ve contributed to a huge array of car, commercial vehicle and 4x4 titles during that time.
These days, commissions include my role as senior contributor to Classic Car Mart magazine, as well as being editor of 4x4mart.co.uk. But my experience goes much further, having had work published in a wide variety of motoring magazines over the years – including Classic & Sports Car, Practical Classics, Auto Express, Autocar, Car Week, Your Classic, Practical Motorist, Country Car, Technik, Street Machine, Popular Classics, Redline, Classic Car Weekly and many, many more.
I have also successfully edited five national motoring magazines since the 1990s, comprising Classic American, Truck & Van Mart, Volkswagen Motoring, 4x4 Mart – plus Real Classics, a magazine that I launched independently (as publisher and editor) back in 1997.
In addition to my magazine work, I have written a total of seven motoring books for Haynes and Veloce – titles that include Beasts From The East, The Sports Car Book, The Smart Story and The 4x4 Book.
My experience as a motoring writer is vast, taking in all the main genres – enabling me to produce features on classic cars, modified cars, road tests of current models, secondhand buying reports, off-road features, technical articles, auction reports and a whole lot more. Plus, when it comes to feature cars, I am able to provide high-resolution digital photography to accompany the text – enabling you to keep an eye on your budget and to commission genuinely cost-effective editorial.
Whatever your editorial motoring needs, I have the experience and resources to help.
